Oil Paintings

Bring them to life with an oil painting.

Love them Fur-ever with a timeless portrait by ShawnaLee

Oil Paintings command attention and brighten up any room.

Hand painted from your selected photographs.

Oil Paintings take a bit longer due to the slow drying and layering needed, but we think they’re worth it.

Worthy of any museum, or your home.

Varnishing

Varnishing your painting

Research on the Best Practices reveal that it takes at least six months to a full year of curing time before an oil painting may be safely varnished.  Premature varnishing may cause many undesirable problems from discoloration to crackleature over time. We don't want that!

Varnish is a clear layer that protects the surface from the environment and simultaneously enhances your painting by bringing that fresh-painted luster back.  It's like getting a brand new painting all over again!

Timing to varnish your painting: Small paintings may be ready in a few hours to a few days depending on studio volume and contingent on the weather.  Larger paintings may need a full week.

Varnishing Services & Costs (unframed)

Small Paintings (9x12” & under) $25+ tax

Medium works (11x14”-14x18”) $50

Larger paintings (16x20” & up) $75

If you need me to un-frame, varnish, and then re-frame your painting, pricing begins at $300 + tax. (I’m not fond of framing. I would rather sketch, paint or share the joy of art!)

Please reach out to me to schedule your painting to be varnished! I look forward to bringing your painting to its full glory!
